Crews were called to a house fire on Niagara St. in Welland around 4:30 a.m Tuesday morning.Deputy Fire Chief Adam Eckhart says it took more than 30 firefighters to battle the “deep seated fire.”Neighbours called 9-1-1 after hearing the smoke alarms going off inside the empty house.
